EFT Tapping, or Emotional Freedom Techniques, is a simple and effective method for reducing stress and improving wellbeing. This self-help technique combines cognitive therapy with acupressure by tapping on specific points on the body while focusing on your emotions. This process helps to release negative feelings and restore balance to your body’s energy.
Developed in the 1980s, Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) - commonly known as Tapping - began as a revolutionary self-help method. Today, EFT is a user-friendly technique accessible to everyone, backed by scientific research and embraced by health experts worldwide.

Nope. While talk therapy involves discussing and exploring issues verbally, EFT combines meridian tapping with a unique verbal processing sequence that focuses on feelings, not facts. Although many licensed therapists, psychologists, and doctors do use EFT tapping in a clinical setting, I use it for stress release and personal development (coaching). If we happen to encounter deeper issues, we can set them aside for you to address with a therapist when you are ready, or if appropriate we can gently release the emotional charge about those issues using EFT. But any clinical treatment and healing is best left to licensed professionals who I can refer you to when needed. I am not a psychologist, and I am not qualified to work with acute clinical issues, though I am happy to work alongside your healthcare team, with their and your permission.
EFT works by addressing the connection between emotions, thoughts, and physical stress. Studies show the combination of tapping and talking through a customisable protocol impacts the stress and memory area of the brain while also helping us shift perspective around the issue. Multiple previous studies and emerging evidence show us that tapping helps restore balance to your energy/nervous system, lowers cortisol, improves gene expression and promotes emotional freedom, which builds self-empowerment.
Yes for the most the part. Self-administered EFT tapping is generally safe and beneficial for people of all ages and backgrounds. It is a versatile tool for managing stress. However, unguided use is not recommended for those with dissociative conditions, active PTSD flashbacks, or severe traumatic memories. In these cases, it is best to work with an experienced EFT practitioner. EFT Tapping can help in most cases, but it is wise to get support when tackling these types of issues.
